Google has released a new update for Android and iOS users of Google Drive. After this new update, users will be able to easily search any file in Google Drive.
The giant tech company Google has released a new update for Android and iOS users of Google Drive. After this new update, users will be able to easily search any file in Google Drive. The special thing is that if users do not remember the name of the file, then they will be able to search through its format as well.
Recent file will be seen in Google Drive app
After the new update, users will see the recent files in the mobile app of Google Drive, which they will open on the computer or laptop using the desktop version. Apart from this, an intelligent automation feature has also been added to the Google Drive platform. If users search anything through this feature, then Google will give them a session based on recent usage, from which they can choose according to their own.
Having said this, Google had earlier released an update for Google Drive. After this update, just like Gmail, the trash file in Drive will be saved only for 30 days and after that, the file will be automatically deleted.
The second feature that Google has added is ‘intelligent suggestions.’ Users can now view and select from ‘intelligent suggestions’ whenever they type in the search bar. You will see suggestions for people, past searches, and keywords, as well as recently accessed files.
Google has explained why these types of small changes are important. “With changes in working patterns due to COVID-19, more people need to get work done even when they’re away from their desk. Finding files quickly and easily on your phone helps ensure you can still share, review, collaborate, and create, wherever you are, Google said in a blog post.
The search giant has already started rolling out the features for eligible users. If you haven’t yet received the feature, you should get it in a few days. Users are advised to download the latest version of Google Driver to use the newly added features. Google has also noted in the blog that ‘Web and App Activity’ must also be enabled, which will help offer a better experience in general. Once you enable it, all your activities on Google sites and apps will get synced and offer you results in a better way.
Google’s The Anywhere School
In August, Google launched a new initiative called ‘The Anywhere School’ to make children’s education more convenient. In this, users will get one or not 50 new features. Users can avail them on Meet, Classroom, G Suite, and other platforms of Google. According to the company, over the past several months in the world, the education community has never missed its commitment to learn and support students.
But Google has worked on tools that lighten the load of teachers, school leaders, families, and especially students who want to learn many new things at home as well as learn. Google will also release new controls so that users can always choose to join first, last meetings for all participants, disable in-meeting chat, and more. In October, Google will launch a custom in Meet to provide some extra privacy.
Lastly, the new features are available to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education, and nonprofits customers.
